Boeing Co. BA -0.28% is predicting that Emirates Airline and Etihad Airways may order a further one-hundred and seventy-five 777X aircraft to buttress their fleets for expansion. The Gulf airlines have been expanding into new markets and adding capacity for major routes. Emirates airline is based in Dubai and it confirmed its order for the one-hundred and fifty 777X in a $56 billion dollar deal. These will likely replace the airline’s current 777 aircraft fleet. If the program develops and the airline sees more need, then the Emirates could buy another 150 planes. Etihad, on the other hand, could add another twenty-five 777X aircraft. This week, Qatar Airways ordered another 50 jets on top of the 50 it had already confirmed. This cost them $37.7 billion dollars. Read more at the Wall Street Journal.
