I learned that in 1976, Iran Air organized a vacation for Elizabeth Taylor. The whole trip was photographed by Firooz Zahedi, a friend of Elizabeth’s and a cousin of her then boyfriend Ardeshir Zahedi, who was the Iranian Ambassador to the United States. This all took place three years before the Iranian Revolution, which was supported by the United States, and turned Iran into the theocratic nation we know today.
In other words, the chic chicness of this photo-shoot comes from the uber extravagant pre-revolutionary Iran. The pictures include Persepolis, Shiraz and Isfahan. Enjoy the beauty Elizabeth serves, and the splendors of Iran. Look at more pictures at Dangerous Minds.
