A theatre training program called Home Grown will be offered by the Middle East Theatre Academy in Sharjah (one of the Emirates) next year. The intensive course is going to be open for 18-25 in partnership with the Kevin Spacey Foundation (KSF). Kevin Spacey established the foundation to nurture young family and theater talent by coaching youth from 17 countries in the region. It will be free of charge and on January 25th there will be a performance at the Sharjah Institute for Theatrical Arts.

It all started when Spacey and Emirati businessmen Badr Jafar launched META in 2011, which is a non-profit organization that offers training and support for actors, writers, directors and producers in the region. Spacey is simply trying to pay it forward. Applications have to be submitted to www.middleeasttheatre.org and auditions can be both online and in person.
